The biggest airline in Nigeria, Air Peace, rejected reports that it planned to increase the cost of one-way tickets from Lagos to Abuja.
In response to these reports, the airline explained in a statement on X (previously Twitter) that the supposed price rise is untrue and was not the result of corporate action.
We would want to make it clear that this information is untrue and did not come from Air Peace,” the statement read. As stated, we have not issued an official statement on the fare increase, and any announcements about our prices will only be made via our approved means. We urge our esteemed patrons and clients to depend solely on the aforementioned platforms for precise fare changes and information.
The rumour, which surfaced last week, claimed that from November 1, 2024, Air Peace will increase the cost of one-way tickets from Lagos to Abuja to ₦200,000. Nigerians were alarmed by the post; as a result of the escalating cost of flying, many had already resorted to other modes of transportation.
Air Peace has warned travellers that they should disregard the untrue rumours and only trust official sources for accurate information.
