Asari Dokubo, a former militant commander, has accused President Bola Tinubu of betraying him by spending all of his money on his campaign.

Dokubo stated that he felt abandoned after using his own funds to support Tinubu in the 2023 presidential race.

Dokubo pledged to build an alliance with the North in advance of the 2027 presidential race in a now-viral video.

He also noted that if Tinubu failed as president, Nigerians should hold him responsible.

He said, “As young men, we will now begin that same alliance with the North, and I apologise to our dads because they were not wrong in doing so.

“I will start working and forming an alliance with the North today. After I depleted my bank account and spent all of my money campaigning for President Tinubu, he deceived me. The Tinubu I knew in the past is not the Tinubu I know now. We will convey the impression that the Ijaw people can only be worked with by Northerners.

The Yoruba people betray us, thus we cannot cooperate with them. What do we receive for putting our lives at danger by voting and doing everything else?
