Police caution content producers against using uniforms illegally, according to VeryDarkMan

In a video released on his social media accounts on Saturday, the Nigeria Police Force “strongly denounced the unauthorised use of official uniforms and accessories by an online personality, Mr. Martins Otse, better known as “VDM.”

“The Force categorically disassociates itself from this unauthorised portrayal and has launched a full investigation to determine the source of the Police gear used, as well as the authority under which he acted,” stated ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer.

The public should be reminded that using police uniforms, insignia, or accessories without permission is illegal and carries severe consequences, as stated in Section 251 of the Criminal Code Law and Section 133 of the Penal Code Law.

“The Nigeria Police Force firmly warns against the abuse of police uniforms or emblems, even if we acknowledge and encourage the ingenuity of young Nigerians in the content production sector.

“Unauthorised use of these items will not be tolerated as it compromises the integrity and values of the Force.”
