Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, the daughter of President Bola Tinubu and Iyaloja-General, has been named Ambassador for the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education.
Muhammad Sani Idris, the Commission’s Executive Secretary, made the announcement while visiting Tinubu-Ojo’s Lagos home, according to the Guardian.
The Commission’s spokesman, Nura Muhammad, said in a statement on Sunday that Tinubu-Ojo was chosen because of her “passion for supporting disadvantaged communities, particularly Almajiri and out-of-school children.”
Additionally, he commended her for “promoting trade and commerce” and fighting for market women’s access to resources and opportunities.
“I am deeply honoured by this appointment and am committed to alleviating the plight of these vulnerable Nigerians,” Tinubu-Ojo said, expressing her gratitude.
She referred to her father’s commitment to education as “a lasting legacy for Nigerian children” and emphasised it.
“I pray for him to succeed in the task ahead,” she said, praising the executive secretary.
