Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the ministerial nominee, has voiced concerns on the condition of Nigerian embassies throughout the world.
During a ministerial screening before the Senate in plenary on Wednesday, she voiced this new worry.
“The Nigerian embassy in Madrid that you see today is the product of my time in that country,” said Bianca, a former Nigerian ambassador to Spain.
“The Nigerian embassy in Spain looks stunning today. The ambassador’s mansion was also renovated in addition to that.
She clarified that she represented the nation on a number of international forums while serving as ambassador, most notably establishing a link between Nigeria and Spain.
Ojukwu, the appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, said that she was named Africa’s Most Outstanding Ambassador as a result of her efforts.
When I first arrived in Spain, the mission facility was in such terrible shape that I had to stay in a single hotel room for a whole year as a former ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.
“By hiring and training officers, we were able to preserve a great deal of work, not just the mission building, which is why Nigeria deserves to be called an outstanding country.”
