Aisha Suleiman, 16, has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command on charges of poisoning her ex-boyfriend, Emmanuel, and four other young men in the Afashio village in the Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

When Emmanuel’s father, Mr. Elogie Ezekiel, arrived to his son’s flat at approximately 6:30 a.m. on October 26, 2024, he discovered some dead people inside. This unfortunate finding was publicised.

According to reports, Ezekiel discovered Nurudeen’s body in the hallway.

He found Emmanuel, 19, and his girlfriend, Ada Samuel, 16, dead on the bedroom bed as he made his way farther into the flat.

Samuel and Jeffrey Ayegwalo, two of Emmanuel’s other buddies and siblings, were discovered unconscious in the living room.

The five were taken to the hospital right away, where they were declared dead by the medical staff.

According to some local authorities, the victims had just finished a pot of pepper soup that Suleiman had made for the five companions.

Three days later, the inquiry took a dramatic turn when authorities were notified that a group of young men from the town were planning to lynch Suleiman, who was accused of poisoning the victims.

Our reporter was informed on Friday by SP Moses Yamu, the state police public relations officer, that police officers from the Jattu Division were promptly sent to the site, took action, and securely brought Suleiman to the station.

Yamu continued, “The State Criminal Investigation Department has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive investigation into the case.”

In the meantime, CP Umoru Ozigi, the Commissioner of Police, has directed a thorough investigation and directed police to follow up on all leads in order to ascertain the actual cause of death in this instance.

In addition, he urged the public to respect the police’s authority and cautioned against any kind of mob action. The people was reassured by CP Ozigi that justice would be vigorously sought.
