According to reports, a man and his two sons were murdered by suspected gunmen on a farm in Amaeze, Ishiagu, in the Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Their remains were discovered on the farm early yesterday morning after a thorough search after they failed to come home from their farms, a source informed Sunday Vanguard.

The farmer and his two children, whose identities were unknown at the time of publication, were discovered dead with severe wounds and bloodstains that suggested a vicious murder.

When reached, DSP Joshua Ukandu, the State Police Public Relations Officer, stated that the Ivo Police Division had not yet notified him of the occurrence.

However, Chief Emmanuel Ajah, the chairman of Ivo LGA, acknowledged the occurrence and claimed to have increased local security.

Additionally, Nkemkanma Kama, the representative for Ohaozara, Onicha, and Ivo Federal constituencies in the House of Representatives, attested to the murders.

He stated: “I was shocked to learn that three farmers in the Amaeze village had just been killed by dishonest people who like wreaking chaos and destroying society. The unlawful behaviour of these careless people is something I strongly detest. Life is precious. I urge the security forces, particularly the Army and the police, to find and apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime. In order to allow our people to return to their farms, which are our primary source of income, I also urge the security services to increase protection surrounding our villages.
