A Nigerian police plot to demote a husband and dismiss a female officer in Edo for exposing a rapist colleague who had abused a teenage suspect inside a cell.

The arrested woman was taken from her cell and placed in the jail’s administrative unit, where she was drugged and had sex with now-fired officer Abraham.

Inspector Edith Uduma, a policewoman, is about to be wrongfully fired by the Edo State Police Command for disclosing the alleged sexual abuse of a female inmate at a police division in Etsako West, Edo State.

According to information obtained by SaharaReporters, the policewoman saw the encounter between a female inmate whose identity is withheld for the protection of human sanctity and a Sergeant Abraham Ozobor.

The arrested woman was taken from her cell and placed in the jail’s administrative unit, where she was drugged and had sex with now-fired officer Abraham.

At the time of the assault, the victim was seventeen years old.

According to those with knowledge of the matter, SaharaReporters was informed that the police divisional officer, station officer, and Inspector Inah Yibala were all contacted after seeing the occurrence.

However, it was discovered that SP Osemwegie Lilian, the DPO, did not take any action to report the event to the proper authorities until five days after it occurred.

According to sources who spoke to SaharaReporters, Edith was urged not to submit the case right away, but she did, which infuriated Lilian, the Ibie Divisional Police Officer, when she returned the next day.

It was also known that Inspector Edith was under pressure from Auchi and Jataau, the DPOs of the Ibie Police Station, to abandon the matter.

It was learnt that Edith contacted the police commissioner’s personal assistant to report the incident when the DPO failed to take action. She was instructed to report to the area command.

After the DPO failed to notify the police commissioner, the commissioner was notified by the commissioner’s personal assistant.

The DPO wrote a signal stating that she was never told, but only after the commissioner became aware of this.

According to SaharaReporters, the victim was released right away by the police unit at the Ibie police station after the police officer had harassed the detained woman, and no attempt was made to take her for medical attention.

Moses Yamu, the Edo State police public relations officer, was called and accused Edith of accepting N45,000 in bribery from Abraham, who had sexual knowledge of the victim. He also said that Edith demanded an additional N1 million rather than reporting the incident.

Additionally, he attested to the dismissal of the police officer implicated in the sexual abuse.

However, Edith denied receiving any bribes.

According to reliable sources, Inah Yibala, an officer who also observed the incident, was the one who took the money from the errant police officer and it was retrieved, as reported by DAILYPULSE REPORT.

“I am accused of collecting money that I never did.” The DPO is simply upset that the matter was made public, particularly because she is retiring on November 15th.
