Trump’s victory in the second swing state puts him ahead of Harris.

In America’s extremely tight presidential race, Donald Trump moved closer to defeating Kamala Harris on Wednesday, giving the Democrat the slimmest chance to prevent him from making a spectacular electoral comeback.

Additionally, Trump’s Republican Party took control of the Senate, eliminating a slim Democratic majority by winning two seats.

North Carolina and Georgia, the second swing state, were won by the 78-year-old Republican former president, demonstrating his increasing momentum as he aims for a comeback that would rock the globe.

As incomplete vote tallies emerged, Democratic vice president Harris seemed to be falling short of Trump in crucial districts.

As previously anticipated, her team announced that she would not address supporters during a watch party in Washington, DC.

According to Harris’s campaign, the election was now “razor-thin,” and the states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—known as the “Blue Wall swing states”—were her “clearest path” to victory.

In an email to campaign personnel that AFP was able to get, her campaign director Jen O’Malley Dillon stated that “we feel good about what we’re seeing” in the Blue Wall.

Jason Miller, a spokesman for Trump, described the atmosphere in the Republican camp in Florida as “positive.”

The majority of financial markets rose as traders placed bets on Trump winning as the results came in, while the US dollar jumped and bitcoin reached a record high.

Trump received 243 electoral votes and Harris 194 after he won California and the resolutely Republican states of Florida and Texas in his early victories. To win the president, 270 is the magic number.

As the results were announced, the atmosphere at Harris’s watch party at Howard University, a historically Black university and her previous college, in Washington, drastically changed.

As the excitement subsided and individuals started to depart, others fixed their gazes closely on the news screens.

As she was leaving Howard, Charlyn Anderson said, “I am afraid.” “I’m nervous right now. My legs hardly move, therefore I’m leaving.

On the other hand, there was a growing sense of celebration at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property in Florida and the Palm Beach watch party his campaign was hosting.

Elon Musk, a tech entrepreneur who has supported Trump, shared a photo of himself at Mar-a-Lago with the Republican.

Musk posted on his own social media network, X, “Game, set, match.”

Throughout Election Day, millions of Americans lined up to cast their ballots, and millions more did so early. This election had significant ramifications for both the US and the rest of the world.

They had to decide whether to give Trump and his right-wing “America First” ideology a historic comeback or elect Harris to the most powerful position in the world.

Numerous bomb threats against voting places in Georgia and Pennsylvania, a pivotal swing state, served as a clear reminder of the tension and concerns about outright violence.

According to the FBI, the threats seemed to come from Russia, which Washington claims is attempting to sway the election. Despite being fake, the threats managed to sabotage the proceedings.
