IPOB advises Igbo leaders to work for peace in S-East.
In order to lower crime and instability in the Southeast and stop engaging in “political witch-hunting,” the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, has urged Igbo leaders to band together.
Emma Powerful, the spokesperson for IPOB, stated that the actions of criminals supported by the federal government had caused unrest in the South East Region recently.
Some foreign interests and their collaborators, through their government agents, fund violent criminals and kidnappers with the intention of exploiting our country’s natural resources.
Both domestically and abroad, the South East is regarded as Nigeria’s safest and most tranquil area. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) named South East Nigeria the safest region for four years in a row.
But for two reasons, the Nigerian government and her allies in the West began funding politicians who enlisted criminals to sow discord in the South East.
First, to extort IPOB’s nonviolent, nonviolent campaign for a referendum on Biafra self-determination. Second, to instill fear and provide justification for the region’s militarisation in order to facilitate the simple exploitation of its natural resources.
The plan to destabilise the South East was aided by the Supreme Court’s undemocratic and unlawful decision that put Imo State’s governor in fourth place instead of first. Ndigbo and the South East region have not had peace since the governor and a few political appointees from Abuja were forced upon them.
Nonetheless, IPOB wants to remind the western politicians and the Nigerian government that Alaigbo is a sacred land. The bloodshed of the sons and daughters of the Indigenous People of Biafra must be tolerated. We refer to it as aru, which translates to “abomination.”
It is unacceptable to shed the innocent blood of Biafrans in order to remain politically and economically relevant. To remain politically and/or economically relevant, the blood of innocent Biafran should never be sacrificed.
“Politicians in the Southeast ought to cease funding political thugs in our area. In a similar vein, it is recommended that drug cartels operating along Imo State’s Orlu axis locate respectable ventures in the South East Region rather than destroying Igbo youngsters.
“The Nigerian government and Western-supported insecurity in the East are being fuelled by all the political and drug-related crimes in the region that are funded by some notorious persons. In order to distinguish between normal criminals and foreign-backed criminals who are here to exterminate our people, we are calling for an end to the political squabbling among Ndigbo.
“IPOB has already established a few watchdogs to pinpoint certain politicians and drug cartels that are causing instability in the East. Anyone who says they were unaware of this IPOB order will be sorry.
As a worldwide movement for peace, IPB will do our part to maintain harmony in the tranquil South East, particularly during the approaching Christmas season. According to the United Nations Development Program’s 2012–2016 rating, the Southeast area of Nigeria was deemed the most secure and tranquil.
Regardless of the insecurity in the area that is supported by the federal government, IIPOB wishes to restore the region to its previous splendour. For this reason, we are urging Igbo businesspeople and politicians to refrain from acting as destabilising forces in the area. However, IPOB has made it clear that those who do not give peace a chance would be viewed as foes. The people who have been hired to destroy Biafran land will also be destroyed. IPOB advocates for peaceful and secure Biafran land, but those who threaten our land’s peace will face their retribution.
