Fuel Price Increase: More prayers are needed to prevent hunger, Mbaka says

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry in Enugu State, has expressed grave worries about Nigeria’s skyrocketing fuel prices and emphasised the need for immediate prayers to reduce the likelihood of hunger and widespread suffering.

At the opening of Blessed Omemma Oil and Gas Limited, a new filling station in Abakpa, Enugu East Local Government Area, Fr. Mbaka emphasised that the country is already experiencing hunger and that, if left unchecked, might turn into a famine disaster.

Because savings may continue to lose value in the face of economic difficulties, he encouraged Nigerians to take charge of their money and invest instead of holding cash in banks.

Fr. Mbaka asked for a concerted effort in prayer to find a solution and urged the government to act decisively to address the increase in fuel prices. “More prayers are needed for Nigeria to recover,” he said. “We are currently dealing with hunger, but if we don’t take precautions, we may end up with famine. I advise people to make prudent investments rather than leaving their money in a bank where it will continue to lose value.

“The government knows what they need to do about the fuel hike,” he added. These toxic conditions can be resolved by one of their solutions, which is why I stress the need of prayer.

Chief Mathias Ukaigwe’s new Blessed Omemma Oil and Gas Ultra-Modern Station sells refined petroleum products at competitive pricing, such as Dual-Purpose Kerosene (DPK), Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).

In his remarks, Chinedu Anyaso, Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) Enugu Unit Depot, praised Chief Ukaigwe for the establishment of the facility, stating that it has improved access to petroleum products in the area and given young people job opportunities.

According to Anyaso, the station also boosts the local and national economies. “This filling station will help ensure the availability and accessibility of petroleum products for residents of Enugu East Local Government and beyond,” he added.
