Evangelist Ebuka Obi, the leader of the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, has shared three enormous commitments he made to God before to launching the now-famous ministry.

In an interview with Sun, the well-known clergyman stated that he has not yet engaged in sexual activity with any lady and that he will stay chaste until he marries.

He claimed that one Rev. Fr. Luke Odinkemmelu counselled him as a child to stay a virgin till marriage in an effort to maintain God’s love and authority over him.

“Those instructions given to me by the reverend father have kept me till today. I had promised God that I would not have sex until I marry. I’ve not had sex before,” he said. Evangelist Obi, who asserted that Zion ministry is merely a prayer ground and not a church, added that the reverend father also told him never to open his own church. “He said he saw where I was talking to millions of people, but that I should not leave the Catholic Church where I was born,” he said.

What he meant by “don’t have sex until you’re married and don’t open a church” was unclear to me. I shouldn’t be money-minded, he added. He said, “The reverend father told me that I would succeed if I kept these three things.”

According to evangelist Obi, who was influenced by the priest’s teachings, he made a vow to God that he would not be materialistic, start his own church, or marry a woman before getting married.

The clergyman further disclosed that since the ministry is not a church, he does not perform church weddings or baptisms. KL
