Biden offers Trump a peaceful transition.

In a historic return visit to the White House on Wednesday, US President-elect Donald Trump praised President Joe Biden for promising a seamless transition of power.

Politics is difficult, and the world isn’t always pleasant. After the two men shook hands in the Oval Office, Trump remarked, “It’s a nice world today and I appreciate it very much.”

The transfer will be “as smooth as you can get,” Trump, 78, continued.

In front of a crackling fire, Biden welcomed Trump, saying, “Welcome back,” and congratulating him.

Despite Trump’s refusal to acknowledge his defeat in the 2020 election, the 81-year-old Biden extended an invitation to the White House to his sworn foe.

when dropping out of the race in July, Biden said he was “looking forward to having a smooth transition” when his replacement, Kamala Harris, lost to Trump last week.

He assured Trump, “We’ll do everything in our power to ensure you’re accommodated and have what you need.”

The victorious Trump
Biden, who called Trump a menace to democracy, may have found their conversations following the public handshake to be a tough pill to chew.

During the meeting, Biden was supposed to press Trump to maintain US backing for Ukraine’s war against Russia, a move the Republican has questioned.

Prior to the White House visit, Trump spoke to House of Representatives Republicans in a hotel in Washington close to the Capitol, which was overrun by a crowd of his fans in 2021 in an attempt to overturn his electoral defeat.

An exuberant In violation of the US Constitution, Trump even hinted that he would be open to a third term in office.

“Unless you say, ‘He’s good, we got to figure something else,’ I suspect I won’t be running again,” he remarked, eliciting some chuckles.

It appears that Trump’s party will win both houses of Congress and solidify his incredible resurgence.

The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, who he designated on Tuesday as the leader of a new group focused at cutting government expenditure, joined him to the meeting with Republicans.

Trump is moving quickly to form his government, and he has started a frenzy of nominations.

  • Selecting his team – Biden’s invitation to the Oval Office reinstated a presidential transition custom that Trump broke after losing the 2020 election by declining to meet with Biden or even show up for the inauguration.

When Trump emerged victorious in the 2016 election, then-President Barack Obama had greeted him at the White House.

However, many members of his own party had also condemned Trump for inciting the attack on the Capitol by the time he boarded his final Marine One flight from the White House grounds on January 20, 2021.

However, Republicans quickly swung back to Trump after realising his distinct political potential as the leader of his right-wing movement, ending that time of shame.

Trump is in complete control of his party going into his second term, while the Democrats are in a state of chaos.

As the world watches to see how closely he keeps his promises of isolationism, mass deportations, and massive tariffs, he has spent the week since the election collecting his best staff at his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.

Trump appointed billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy, Tesla and X CEO Elon Musk, and Space X to head a “Department of Government Efficiency (‘DOGE’)—a playful allusion to bitcoin and an online joke.

Trump is selecting a number of ultra-loyalists in an attempt to swiftly assemble his government.

Pete Hegseth, a veteran of the army and anchor of Fox News, was nominated by Trump to be his next defence secretary. Hegseth, a vocal critic of the military’s alleged “woke” mentality, lacks expertise overseeing the enormous US military budget and bureaucracy.

As director of the Department of Homeland Security, Trump appointed Kristi Noem, the governor of South Dakota and an ally who famously wrote about slaughtering her dog because it did not react to training.
