With strict security measures in place, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State has started distributing sensitive materials for the next gubernatorial election.
Toyin Babalola, the Ondo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, oversaw the procedure, which was conducted at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) branch in Akure. Babalola gave political parties, the people of Ondo State, and other interested parties his word that INEC is ready to organise an election that is free, fair, and transparent.

At the CBN branch in Akure, materials were provided, including ballots and results sheets. Meanwhile, security agencies, party members, the journalists, and observers attended the INEC headquarters to distribute Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices to the local governments.
Babalola stressed that INEC’s preparedness is shown in the early distribution. As you can see, everything is going well with the distribution exercise. Local governments who are the furthest away have already started to take action. The papers will be sent to all local governments by 1:30 PM, so we anticipate that the procedure will be finished soon,” she said.
The Nigerian Navy will supply gunboats for additional protection when materials are brought by water to local government areas with challenging terrain, such Ilaje and Ese-Odo. To guarantee that supplies reach every polling station, INEC has set up alternate transportation in locations with difficult rural approaches.
Babalola said that the distribution procedure has been planned to guarantee that all wards and polling places receive the required supplies and urged political parties to keep the calm on election day.
PDP delegate Olaniyi Ogunbuji, State APC Chairman Ade Adetumehin, and Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Chairman Adesanya Olaoluwa commended INEC’s openness and attested to the fact that the papers were examined and undamaged. They promised that all parties will work together to ensure a seamless election process.
