Tinubu gives Indian Prime Minister Modi GCON

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given the national title of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) by President Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday.

During the Nigeria-India bilateral meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Tinubu gave the PM the honour.

According to him, the Indian leader received the award as a token of Nigeria’s gratitude and dedication to the collaboration between Nigeria and India.

The Indian Prime Minister offered to provide 20 tonnes of relief supplies to Nigeria in response to the recent floods that devastated several cities around the nation, including the big flood event in Maiduguri.
