
The Port Harcourt Refinery in Rivers State has begun processing crude oil, according to confirmation from the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).Crude oil processing at Port Harcourt
Femi Soneye, the company’s chief corporate communications officer, announced the news on Tuesday.
According to Soneye, the refinery would process 60,000 barrels per day while running at 60% capacity.
As the Port Harcourt Refinery formally starts processing crude oil today, Nigeria achieves a significant milestone. This historic achievement marks a new chapter in our country’s economic development and energy independence,” Soneye stated on Tuesday.

Soneye stated that the NNPCL is “working tirelessly to bring the Warri Refinery back online soon” and that truck loading will start on Tuesday (today).
