Mbah’s budget for 2025 is more than N971.8 billion.

Barr. Peter Mbah, the governor of Enugu State, has requested a budget of ₦971.8 billion for the fiscal year 2025. This is a substantial increase over the ₦521.6 billion allocated for 2024.

Mbah said the new budget, called the “Budget of Exponential Growth and Inclusive Prosperity,” intends to guarantee that development reaches every region of the state during the budget presentation at the Enugu State House of Assembly on Tuesday.

The governor was certain that the state’s economic growth vision would be realised, especially if the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased.

“Our goal of increasing our GDP is clearly attainable. No one in our state should have to live in poverty or penury. “No area of the state will be excluded,” he declared.

Budget breakdown: ₦837.94 billion for capital expenditures, ₦133.14 billion for recurring expenses, and ₦559.39 billion for recurring capital expenditures.

The governor declared that ₦692.17 billion will be generated via grants, internal generated revenue (IGR) of ₦144.8 billion, value added tax (VAT) of ₦74.92 billion, and other sources.

The administration’s emphasis on education, which Governor Mbah described as the cornerstone of growth, was underlined. A significant amount of ₦320.61 billion is expected to be allocated to the education sector.

More than ₦213.12 billion was set aside for roads and infrastructure in order to improve public amenities and connectivity throughout the state.

In an effort to increase economic activity and connectivity, Governor Mbah declared that an Enugu State airline would be launched in a matter of weeks.

In a few weeks, Enugu Airline will be established, allowing our brothers who are travelling for Christmas to take flights on our airline,” he stated.

The goal of this project is to make travel easier for locals and tourists, especially during the holidays.

Governor Mbah’s dedication to promoting exponential growth and guaranteeing equitable prosperity for all Enugu State residents is reflected in the budget.
