The kidnapping of Mr. Samuel Ekerenam, proprietor of the Hephzibah Shopping Mall located on Afaha Uqua Obok-Idim Road in the state’s Eket Local Government Area, has been confirmed by the Akwa Ibom Police Command.Police verify Chevron employees were kidnapped

In an interview with the newsmen in Eket on Tuesday, State Police Public Relations Officer ASP Timfon John revealed this.

According to John, the event occurred at his Hephzibah Shopping Mall in Eket on Saturday at approximately 10:55 p.m.

She claimed that after shooting the victim’s personal driver and demoralising his police escort, the shooters kidnapped him and took him away.

“Efforts are underway to rescue the victim without any injuries after the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Joseph Eribo, and his tactical commanders visited the crime scene,” John stated.

According to NAN, on October 17, 2019, the victim’s wife, Mrs. Glory Ekerenam, was abducted in Eket and held captive at the kidnapper’s hideout in Ikot Ubo, which is located in the state’s Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.

The victim returned from work the same day he was kidnapped, according to a family source who asked that his name not be used.
The police officer was in a serious condition at an unidentified hospital in the state, he said.
