Delta Speaker Mourns Victims of Boat Mishap, Calls for Investigation
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, has expressed deep sorrow over a tragic boat mishap that claimed several lives and left others injured. The incident occurred on Friday as Guwor was returning to Asaba via Warri after engaging with constituents. The boat he was traveling in narrowly avoided a head-on collision with another, resulting in the unfortunate deaths and injuries.

In a heartfelt statement, the Speaker extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, praying for strength to help them bear the loss. “I am still in shock over this tragedy and can only imagine the immense grief of the affected families,” Guwor said.
He also thanked God for sparing his life and that of the other survivors, while appreciating the swift action of rescue teams and medical personnel.
