NNPC Secures Exclusive Use of Port Harcourt Refinery Products for Its Retail Network

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has announced that products from the recently rehabilitated Port Harcourt Refinery will be reserved exclusively for its retail operations. This move aims to streamline supply and ensure consistent availability across NNPC’s outlets.

The refinery, now operating at 70% of its capacity following extensive upgrades, produces a range of petroleum products, including Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), kerosene, diesel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Plans are underway to ramp up output to 90% capacity soon, promising even greater domestic supply. This exclusive distribution strategy is intended to support price stability and meet consumer demand effectively, particularly amid challenges in Nigeria’s energy sector

NNPC’s decision to limit bulk sales to its network also addresses concerns about product allocation and transparency. The company emphasized its commitment to improving efficiency and fostering self-reliance in the petroleum industry.
