Herro ended with nine of the Heat’s franchise-record 24 three-pointers and scored 21 of his 31 points in the third quarter.
The Heat kept their offence going against the sluggish Lakers with 17 points from Jimmy Butler and 14 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists from Bam Adebayo, who set a team record with 42 assists.
Herro exploded in the third quarter, making seven three-pointers to tie the Heat record for the most in a quarter, even though the Heat were already ahead 17 at the half.
Adebayo remarked, “You see what happened, we came into this game with great energy.”
The Lakers were listless on both ends of the court after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves by 29 points on Monday.
Lakers first-year coach JJ Redick declared, “I’m embarrassed, and we’re all embarrassed.” “We didn’t have the proper fight or professionalism in this game.
“Some ownership must exist,” he continued. “This belongs to me, but the court will need to have some ownership.”
