Additionally, the government stated that 3,000 spots have been set aside for those with special needs out of the 93,731 beneficiaries of the programme, which is overseen by the National Directorate of Employment, or NDE. This was revealed by NDE Director General Hon. Silas Agara during the RHEI’s formal kickoff at the FCT Skills Acquisition Centre in Kuduru, Bwari Area Council, Abuja. According to Hon. Agara, each state in the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, is anticipated to have 81 of the 3,000 places set aside for those with special needs. “While talks are ongoing with credit providing banks to guarantee that every beneficiary of the scheme gets settled, some of the beneficiaries will be resettled into productive entrepreneurial lives through the provision of tools, equipment, and starting cash,” he stated. “A total of 93,731 unskilled and unemployed folks across Nigeria have been targeted by the present employment drive,” he said. When we were designing this programme, inclusivity was a key factor. To take advantage of the 30 talents spread over our four main programs—vocational skills development, small-scale business development, rural employment promotion, and special public works—we made sure to recruit at least 10 people from each of Nigeria’s 8,809 electoral wards.Additionally, the project has made provisions for a number of unskilled and jobless groups, including women, tertiary institution graduates, pensioners, people with special needs, school dropouts, and school leavers.

I should also mention that many of the recipients will be reintegrated into successful business careers following the training by receiving beginning funds, tools, and equipment.

“Those that we are not able to rehabilitate, on the other hand, will be put in touch with credit grants for more help.” The NDE Director General said that the directorate had made sure that cutting edge technology was used in the planning and carrying out of the project while he was in charge. “I am happy to say that 40,000 of the 93,731 people who have signed up for this project will be learning ICT and digital skills. This is a deliberate move by the NDE to give our young people new skills that will make them competitive on a world scale.
