Superintendent of Customs Ridwan Yusuf, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, issued a statement disclosing this information.
Comptroller Tijjani Abe, the Area Controller in Kaduna, was quoted in the statement as stating that the command achieved a new revenue milestone in November 2024 by generating over ₦4 billion in a single month for the first time in history.
He stated that the revenue generated during the period was derived from import and excise duties, fees, and other sources.
The command’s efficient management of key facilities, such as the Inland Dry Port in Kakuri, Kaduna, Nigerian Breweries Plc (Kakuri and Kudenda), Seven-Up Bottling Company, and three excise factories Leaf Tobacco and Commodity Nigeria Limited, was also emphasised by Abe.
Additionally, he credited the command’s accomplishments to the strategic initiatives implemented by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, and his management team.
He also recognised the collaborative efforts of sister agencies, such as the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security operatives, in assisting the Command in its operations.
Abe reiterated the command’s dedication to maintaining its momentum, improving revenue collection, and cultivating a trade-friendly environment within its jurisdiction.
The figure represents a substantial increase from the ₦14.2 billion collected during the same period in 2023.(NAN)
