This is what the National Bureau of Statistics’ data on capital imports in Q3 said when it came out on Friday.
The numbers showed that foreign investments in Nigeria went up from one year to the next.
However, compared to Q2, capital imports into Africa’s most populous country fell by 51.90%, from US$2,604.50 million in Q2 2024.
More research into capital imports in Q3 showed that portfolio investment made up the most, with US$899.31 million, or 71.79 percent. Other investment came in second, with US$249.53 million, or 19.92 percent.
Foreign Direct Investment came in last, with US$103.82 million, or 8.29% of the total.
