The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) charged Michael with culpable homicide, which is against Section 189 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law.

In court, Mr. Marcus Audu, the prosecutor for the NSCDC, said that on December 11, a man named Godfrey Sunday from Fadia Bakut in Zonkwa reported the crime to the Corp’s office.

Adu said that on December 10, the defendant fed her eight-month-old daughter rat poison for no reason.

He said the baby was taken to the General Hospital in Zonkwa right away. But the next day she died.

He said that the matter was first brought to the attention of the Salama Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Kafanchan. But it was sent to the NSCDC to be looked into.

The judge in charge, Mr. Samson Kwasu, did not hear the accused’s plea because he had no power to do so.

Kwasu told the prosecutor to send the case file to the State Director of Public Prosecutions so that they could give legal advice.

After that, he put the case on hold until December 17 so that it could be talked about again.
