When our reporter called, Seun Abolurin, the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in Lagos, said, “If something like that happened last Sunday, we still don’t have a report of it in our state headquarters. Just because someone wears a uniform doesn’t mean they are from that organisation.” You should be aware that people are very good at pretending to be agencies. They should have told the NSCDC in Lagos about the case. It will keep him from having to worry about identifying himself. They should write to us if they told the police about it.
David Hundeyin, a spokesman for the Lagos State police, said he would call the station and find out what happened when he was asked.
Our reporter spoke to someone at the Ago Palace Police Station who worked in the area where the incident happened but asked to remain anonymous. They said that the incident had been reported to them, but they haven’t been able to confirm whether the people who did it are real men from NSCDC.
